Château Pichon-Longueville Baron Red Bordeaux Blend Pauillac 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

Parker review: 'Medium to full-bodied, with notes of tobacco intermixed with espresso roast, chocolate, black cherry, and cassis fruit, this medium to full-bodied wine shows excellent density, good concentration, and a relatively soft finish. It is hardly a profound Pichon Baron, but it looks to have the potential to turn out to be outstanding. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016.' 89-91/100 pts. (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Apr-2003)

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron:
Chateau Pichon-Longueville is made from vines mainly situated on the historical terroir of the property. The wines produced are powerful, rich in tannins, and characterised for being both elegant and muscular. They have an exceptional length in the mouth, and possess a remarkable ageing potential.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A very successful effort for this vintage...exhibits class/nobility/breed along with black currant liqueur, licorice, and incense notes. Sweet, expansive, fleshy, and medium to full-bodied, with good structure, ripe tannin, and a long, 30-35 second f... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
