Pencil lead, dried herbs, a hint of grass come together on the elegant and refined nose. In the mouth this is a bit tight but has a graceful feel to it. The ripe tannins are lacy but firm, and it remains transparent in the mouth, it's not built on power, but on purity, making it a bit underwhelming today perhaps but this has terrific potential over the midterm if this is your style. 91pts

Ruby red in colour, elegant and refined. Smoky with nose of dark fruits, medium bodied with a good balance. Magnum

This is powered by tannins while also keeping its fresh fruit intact. There is a mineral texture thats layered with a juicy fruit character on the finish. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 750ml

Purple intense color. Aromatic fine and subtle nose. Finally I find it back It appears much more precise than 2005 and 2006. Beautiful on entry it evolves with good density very fruity and finely mellow. After the mid-palate the body slightly fades and the wine shows a slight vividness that should disappear during barrel ageing. In any case I welcome back the rebirth and precision. 78% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 12% cabernet franc, and 2% petite verdot. Independent sibling of Pichon-Baron, this 89-hectare estate borders Chateau Latour. Soils are gravel and clay over deep limestone and sandstone. Aged in 50% new French oak.... John Sweeney. Produced from 41 hectoliters per hectare, which is low for the estate, the wine is an assemblage of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Flowers, 5 spice, cassis, truffle, coca and tobacco scents open the aromati... Jeff Leve. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2010 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1500ml

Wine Advocate ReviewA distinctive bouquet of violets, soy, pepper, blackberries, cassis, and tree bark gives this 2001 a singular style. This dense ruby/purple-colored blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and a whopping 14% Petit Verdot exhibits plenty of structure, wonderful sweetness, a closed style, but a rich, textured, persistent character. The unusually large percentage of Petit Verdot gives the wine more structure and less initial charm. This beauty needs some time in the cellar. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018Wine Tasting NotesThe vintage is a structured winechunky, solid and perfectly balanced. The purity and finesse of its tannins give it a texture that is rich, fleshy and silky.

What sumptuous pleasures await those who purchase either the 1996 or 1995 Pichon-Lalande. It is hard to choose a favorite, although the 1995 is a smoother, more immediately sexy and accessible wine. It is an exquisite example of Pichon-Lalande with the Merlot component giving the wine a coffee/chocolatey/cherry component to go along with the Cabernet Sauvignon's and Cabernet Franc's complex blackberry/cassis fruit. The wine possesses an opaque black/ruby/purple color, and sexy, flamboyant aromatics of pain grille, black fruits, and cedar. Exquisite on the palate, this full-bodied, layered, multidimensional wine should prove to be one of the vintage's most extraordinary success stories. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020.
