Château Picau-Perna Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion 2011

Member Review by Tom Wandeloski:

A 2011 Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon from Sanit-Emilion, France. Good ruby color with mid to tight rim variation. Dark fruits hints of cherry and plum with a touch of spice. It has a mid-finish on the palette and balanced acidity. This wine is still young and will mature over time (2017-2021). Best served chilled to 60 degrees, double decanted and served with a mid-rare lamb dish.

Dry, fruity, and powdery. Like it a lot. A real value.

$16.99 from olive-wine store; Not that great -- finishes a little weak

This Merlot-based red offers all the elegance and plummy fruit that you want in a Bordeaux. You'll also find a touch of fresh herbs, soft tannins, and an elegant finish. This is a fantastic find from St.-Émilion at an unbelievable price.
