A beautiful, balanced, botrytised Sauternes from Bordeaux. Great complexity and fruit with a long, lingering finish. Gold medalist at the 2006 Concours Mondial in Brussels. Château Piada's vineyards are planted on gravely terraces near the Garonne river. In the autumn, the grapes are left on the fine to develop Botrytis or "Noble Rot." Fermentation takes place in oak barrels and the wine spends a further 12 months aging in oak before bottling. The 2003 vintage produced extremely ripe and heady Barsac and Sauterns.
