Winemaker's Notes:

"Aromas of blueberries and spices with hints of licorice too. Full body with firm tannins and a chewy finish. Extremely well-integrated. Beautiful. One of the best ever from here. ...93" JamesSuckling.com 02/13 "Fleshy and inviting, with bittersweet cocoa, roasted tobacco, black currant preserve and warm fig sauce notes all defined and well-supported by dusty tannins...90-93 (BT)" WS Web Only 2011 "A dense purple color along with rich minerality and sweet notes of boysenberries and raspberries are found in this 2010. The irrepressible Michel Rolland (the winemaking consultant at Phelan-Segur) has fashioned an impressively pure, deep, classic St.-Estephe with a supple personality as well as robust tannins...89-91" WA 05/11 "This has a light, attractive bouquet of blackberry, raspberry leaf and cedar – well defined and quite feminine for Phelan. The palate does not quite live up to the nose with dusty tannins, sandalwood and a touch of liquorice, yet it remains nicely composed towards the finish...90" Neil Martin's Wine Journal WA 02/13
