Moderately dense and dark to the eye, Peyrabon is subtly aromatic with red and black fruits. The taste reveals good flesh and weight, and the wine is supple for the vintage, with an appealing texture and finish. A solid achievement and very good Haut Medoc. Tasted from barrel April '07.

Chateau Peyrabon, Haut-Medoc, 2003 has been awarded our seal of 'Everyday Excellence'. We believe this wine offers delicious drinkability at an affordable price - we hope you agree! From vineyards of sandy gravel and calcareous clay along the western boundary of Pauillac planted with 57% Cabernet Sauvignon 37% Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The majority of the estate, which is in one piece, is classified as Haut Medoc and is sold as 'Chateau Peyrabon'. The balance is situated within the Pauillac AOC and is labeled 'Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon'. Peyrabon is usually aged in one-third new oak. The 2003 marries 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. It has very attractive remarkaby generous fruit and can be drunk now (decant for 30 minutes), but it will also keep well for several more years.
