Food Pairings for Château Pey la Tour Red Bordeaux Blend Bordeaux Contrôlée
Not my kind of wine...
definitely agree with the initial plums and spice. These are merely just hints at first, as the wine when first opened is quite closed. As it opens up it presents what you would expect from a merlot dominated blend from Bordeaux, more intense plums, some red fruits and a hint of blackcurrant (possibly from the Cab Sauv) this is followed by herby notes with some toast from oak. The palate is much the same and it finishes on a savoury note. Good St. Emillion pretender for the money.
