Lovely aromatics of violet, lavender, mulberry, hints of black tea, orange peel, dried rose petal, red currant and black cherry, Indian spice, black plum and some blackberry jam. Lively acid on the palate and youthful ripe fruit. Flavors of cranberry, plum, marionberry, hints of blueberry and acai with a minty edge. Some warmth, not quite heat, from the youthful acid and alcohol needing just a bit of time to better mellow. Some black pepper and herbal notes. Fresh and vibrant, but decant a bit or give time. I enjoy older vintages of this wine and 06 has still been drinking well. 82 pts.
