Château Péby Faugères Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 2000

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

This jumps out of the glass, with berry, Indian spices and raspberry character on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a caressing texture. Slightly short on the finish. A bit too much wood, but impressive... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Peby Faugeres 750ml

Impressive saturated ruby. Roasted black cherry, dark chocolate, mocha and espresso on the nose. Lush and silky on the palate, with intense, nicely delineated dark berry and torrefaction flavors. Impressively concentrated and rich. Dense, vinous and ... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Peby Faugeres 1500ml

This opaque, purple-colored 1999 boasts a gorgeous nose of blueberry liqueur intermixed with cedar, spice box, coffee, and cassis. It is extremely supple-textured, spicy, with an expansive, savory, full-bodied palate, no hard edges, and a finish that lasts for nearly 35 seconds. This is an amazing wine for the vintage. It will be at its finest between 2003-2018. A brilliant effort!
