Editorial Reviews for Château Patache d'Aux Red Bordeaux Blend Médoc

seems a bit closed, saline, salty japanese plums, cedary, mysterious notes of dark tea, a hint of vanilla, some roasty meatiness and a whisper of volatility - well balanced, juicy and chewy though rustic and a bit chunky, chewy but not ponderous, good dark cherry fruit up front, lovely core of almost tarry minerality, bit of leather, finishes crisply if short with red fruits and a hint of florality. Very nice low end 2003 bordeaux in need of another 2-3 years to be at peak but with excellent freshness and balance and no spoof to speak of

This vintage of Bordeaux was a real pleaser for palates that crave richness. Look to these smaller properties to find the hidden treasures that offer great value. This is solid in fruit with a slight gravel-mineral on the finish. Great with meat-based fare.
