A very ripe white, with mango, honey and vanilla character. Full-bodied, with lots of flavor and a long finish. Will improve with age. Drink now through 2004.

Surprise, surprise! This is a noteworthy effort in a vintage that was far more successful for red Bordeaux than dry whites. Aromas of honeyed grapefruit, melon, and smoke emerge from a tasty, medium-bodied, crisp, structured 2000. It is best drunk during its first decade of life.

Mild lees scents introduce this supple young wine, showing finesse in its structure, though not much flavor yet. The acidity seems to hold flavors of kumquat and grapefruit, even as the oak suppresses them. This should show more of itself when five to eight years old.

Lemon zest, smoky oak, fig, and buttery tropical fruit characteristics are present in this straightforward, fruit-driven Pessac-Léognan. Earthy, with good acidity as well as excellent weight and depth, it should be consumed over the next 10-12 years.
