Based in Escoussans, in the heart of Haut Benauge, the Dubourg family owns the vineyard of Château Nicot. Situated a little less than 22 miles south of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the River Garonne, this domaine has enjoyed an enviable reputation for over two hundred years. Grapes: 40% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Muscadelle. Soil : Limestone and clay. Vinification: Grapes are macerated for 12 hours on their skins, followed by a slow temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine was matured on its lees with regular stirring. It was then aged in stainless steel casks. Colour: Straw with bright yellow and green highlights. Taste: On the nose, this wine is highly aromatic with the delicious characteristic fragrances of Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes. It is quite rich in style, but with clean and fresh fruit flavours. Serve: Chilled at 10°C with seafood or fish in sauce.
