Nose: raspberry, cranberry, other sweet red fruits, liquorice root, spice, dried fruits/figs. Palate: Sweet raspberry and other red fruit at first, liquorice root, rosemary, some earthiness on end, complexing savouriness. Very smooth subtle tannin, medium bodied. Mod/mild acidity. Good palate length.
External Reviews for Chateau Musar Red
Supple and mature-tasting, with plenty of brickish notes to the dried berry, cherry and currant flavors. Black olive and tarragon notes emerge on the long, spicy finish. Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. Drink now.
Ripe red fruit shines brightly amidst darker notes of damp foliage and leather that add complexity and depth to this fleshy red blend. Soft and fresh on the palate with a restrained acidity, it’s a rustic, yet elegant wine.
