Château Mouton Rothschild Red Bordeaux Blend Pauillac 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

Parker review: 'Another candidate for wine of the vintage... it is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The color may be the most saturated and opaque of any Medoc Cabernet based 2002. It is a broad-flavored offering displaying tell-tale creme de cassis intermixed with smoke, cocoa, leather and liquorice... This is unquestionably a vin de garde for long-term cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2015 - 2040.' 96/100 pts. (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Oct-2003)

Château Mouton-rothschild:
Since 1933, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, located at Pauillac in the Médoc, has been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category, whether the châteaux wines for which it is responsible – the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac – or branded wines, like the famous Mouton Cadet.

Complex aromas of tobacco, cedar, berry and currants. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and ripe tannins. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2002 Mouton-Rothschild 750ml

Dense purple to the rim, this wine exhibits the classic cassis aroma that is so characteristic of Mouton. Medium to full-bodied, tannic, powerful, and cut somewhat from the 1988 mold, this is a backward, chewy, well-endowed Mouton-Rothschild that wil... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
