Winemaker's Notes:

Château Mouton-rothschild:
Since 1933, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, located at Pauillac in the Médoc, has been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category, whether the châteaux wines for which it is responsible – the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac – or branded wines, like the famous Mouton Cadet.

A subtle wine that's fading. You have to search for the aromas and flavors, but what you find are delicate notes of sweet fruit, chocolate and cassis that are charming enough to still rate this aging Mouton outstanding.--Mouton-Rothschild vertical. ... Incredibly fine and subtle for the vintage with tobacco, black currant and berry aromas and flavors, medium body and a long flavorful, silky finish. Drink or hold. -JS Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1991 Mouton-Rothschild 750ml

Here comes the wine of the vintage Intense black color. Intense and very aromatic nose. This is the most aromatic of all first growths tasted during this future campaign. Upon swirling it appears pure and noble. From entry it provides strong pleasure. Developing dense very very fruity and with beautiful weaving. No doubt that this is the best weaving of Bordeaux this year. Very juicy and pure the wine evolves on fine tannins without granularity. Very beautiful aromas emerge on the finish. This is very good with great length. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com

The 1949's bouquet offers copious amounts of sweet, ripe cassis fruit, herbs, spicy oak, and a touch of coffee and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, with moderate tannin still noticeable, this compact, dark g... Robert Parker. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1949 Mouton-Rothschild 375ml
