This is tight on the nose with aromatic French oak and a small core of rather precise, lightly candied black currant/blackberry fruit peeking out. A touch soft in the mouth, this nonetheless is well-balanced with a nice combination of weight and intensity. Like the nose, one gets an impression of a wine not giving up its all but what is here is very attractive: red and black currant fruit, a nice streak of earth, a hint of caramel from the oak, all leading to a lovely finish that is moderately long and fruit-driven (though not fruity), with the oak lurking until the finale, where it adds some peppery spice. 91pts

Lots of sweet fruit and spicy oak greets the nose along with notes of candied herbs, dried tomato and black currant fruit. Supple yet bright, this shows a lovely, lively character in the mouth with a blend of red and black berry fruit wrapped around subtle herb and clear baking spice flavors. There's a hint of creaminess to the texture, and a touch of sweetness from oak but this remains refined with good power and lovely balance. The finish is moderately long with a nice blue plum and spice note. Very complete wine. 90pts

Cocoa, pomegranate, pencil lead, bit of ivy and herbs, blueberry, very aromatic, super fine herbaceous notes, violet, herbal, violet pastille, little paprika, smooth, ripe, a bit soft, ashy, lots of slightly extracty fruit, blueberry, blackberry, black currant, spicy, mineral hints on the background, good length, rich and intense, succulent almost cranberry note on the finish, sweet tannin finish, lightly jammy wild blueberry finish, beautifully integrated and powerful. 94pts

Fruity wine. A little dry at the finish. Very easy to drink, went well with roasted pork and beef.

This wine was described as a vinho verde, which it is NOT. It is very inexpensive and delicious. The server was kind enough to write down the name of the bottle -- very good with fish and excellent alone.

We got blackberry and plum on the nose with tobacco and a hint of light roast coffee. The mouthfeel was particularly smooth and round. On the palate, cinnamon candies, black cherry, plum, and caramel were detected. The finish was smooth as well, lingering with the taste of berry cola. There was little acidity and soft tannins overall.

I find myself smacking my lips long after finishing a glass. This was really layered: coffee and dark berries on the nose; juicy fruit on the palate; vanilla and toasty oak on the finish. Lots of body with very smooth, soft tannins. I wonder how this would fare with steak & chimichurri, would it stand up?

A supple red with charming cherry and plum perfume notes. There s good focus to the cassis and blackberry fruit which is backed by a stylish finish. Tasted non-blind.-J.M. Wine Spectator.

This wine has a medium-deep crimson color that is versatile with very mild tannins. It's nose and palate have profiles that include red fruits and a background of light wood. It has great length in the mouth and a smooth long finish. Recommended with a variety of dishes including meat sauces, grilled poultry and most cheeses.
