A superb white produced by Château Mouton-Rothschild. Expensive but the 2007 is worth a try, for a special occasion. Captivating floral, citrus and white fruit aromas, round with a subtle yet crisp acidity.

Here comes the wine of the vintage Intense black color. Intense and very aromatic nose. This is the most aromatic of all first growths tasted during this future campaign. Upon swirling it appears pure and noble. From entry it provides strong pleasure. Developing dense very very fruity and with beautiful weaving. No doubt that this is the best weaving of Bordeaux this year. Very juicy and pure the wine evolves on fine tannins without granularity. Very beautiful aromas emerge on the finish. This is very good with great length. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com

(an 81/19 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Medium ruby. Aromas of cassis, licorice, graphite, chocolate, menthol and flowers, lifted by a light peppery note. 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot. Dark purple color with full intensity to the rim. Expressive perfume. Very tight and closed black cherry and black berry fruit with shale and slate mineral structure and power. Andy Frieden. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2007 Mouton-Rothschild 1500ml

Attractive blackberry and toasted oak, with plenty of tar and licorice on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, with good fruit and ripe tannins, but slightly hollow in the center palate. Second wine of Mouton. Seems better than the 2006. Score range: 85... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2007 Le Petit Mouton 750ml

    Winemaker's Notes:

Robert Parker scores this wine 90-94 points. Neil Martin is even more enthusiastic, rating it 93-95 points with the comment: "The Mouton ’07 is expressive on the nose with dense black fruits, cedar and cigar box, a touch of sous-bois just loitering in the background. It has a nice purity and control. The palate is medium-bodied, very fine tannins but good backbone and a wonderful sense of natural harmony and balance (to the point where you could consider drinking this now.) Blackberry, cedar, tobacco, graphite - all the elements one seeks in a Pauillac with a very elegant finish. Moderate depth, crisp and vivacious. This represents a superb wine for the vintage. Tasted September 2008."
