Deep, dark ruby in color. Superconcentrated aromas of crushed blackberry, black licorice, espresso and leather follow through to a full body, with ultrafine tannins and loads of coffee and fruit flavors. Very long. Winemaker's Notes:

We are somewhat surprised and 100 % delighted at Monsieur Alain Vauthier's (TheOwner of St Emilions greatest wine, Ch. Ausone) decision to release thisbrilliant Chateau En Primeur. When we tasted this, it was followed next byChapelle de Ausone and then Ausone itself. Fonbel held its own like David toGoliath. It was brilliant and at this price a total bargain. Rich sweet, ripeblackberry fruit. Dense with soft tannins and glorious St Emilion soft appealand Ausone majesty. Drink from arrival in 2008 to 2015. BBRScore 16.5/20
