Very rich aromas of pipe tobacco, chocolate and caramel beautifully complement the black currant and ripe black cherry fruit. Rich, ripe, sweet black cherry dominates the fruit and is nicely complemented with plum and red berry high tones.

Ruby garnet color with brilliant intensity. Pretty perfume of cherry blossom, spicy blackberry and earth. Red and black cherry and cassis leads to espresso and dark chocolate on the mid-palate and finishes with fresh pavement. From my experience w... Andy Frieden. (almost entirely from purchased fruit, rather than "leftovers" from the estate, according to assistant winemaker Matt Crafton; includes 8% merlot for earlier drinkability): Good ruby-red. Classic cabernet aromas of cassis, blueberry, licorice, menthol and mint. Begins tight but becomes more pliant with air, showing firm but fine tannins that come off as less rustic than those of some past releases of this wine. Crafton noted that as of vintage 2008 the team no longer has to pump the must into the press, and they now benefit from smaller fermentation tanks, which allow for more precise harvesting. Theyre also making more use of delestage (rack-and-return) to try to integrate the oak element earlier. The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon offers sweet black currant fruit, roasted herbs, earth and spice characteristics presented in an attractive, medium-bodied style. Winemaker's Notes:

The deep garnet color of this wine hints at the big extraction and dark flavors to follow. Very rich aromas of pipe tobacco, chocolate and caramel beautifully complement the black currant and ripe black cherry fruit. The palate opens soft but builds big and fast, showing a great acid backbone, moderate weight tannins, and a mouthfeel that is full but not heavy or overwhelming. Rich, ripe, sweet black cherry dominates the fruit and is nicely complemented with plum and red berry high tones. Barrel spice is prominent on the finish.
