Château Minuty Rosé Blend Côtes de Provence 2006

External Review by Morrell & Company:

Fine fruity character and mineral aspects both in the nose and on the palate. On the palate the wine reveals a rather refined attack with flavors of jammy red fruit. The acidity is evident and lends a thirst-quenching aspect to the whole. A lively and tasty wine that is enjoyable for its purity and finesse on the palate. Moderate length.

In 1955, the rosé, for which the estate is known, propelled it to be included in the 23 Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence. Farnet’s son, Etienne Matton, became president of the winery around that time, and sought to restrict grape yields and place emphasis on quality control. His sons Jean-Etienne and François-Matton now oversee the winery.  Though not certified organic, the wine is produced without the use of additional chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers. The estate is best known for its high quality rosés, but they also produce dry red and white wines.  Read less
