i think it's better than the other reviews here lead you to believe. it's nothing special but does have a nice vanilla/cedar scent and the tannins are nicely balanced with the flavors, a quality only the french seem to be able to accomplish in the cheaper wines. got mine at trader joes for about $7 and i think i've tried every wine they sell in this price range and this is one of the better ones. nice to drink but it's not going to knock you out with layers of flavor but for $7, it's not the usual sour tannined piss swill that most of the US wineries try to get you to drink. this is exactly what $7 wine should be but, unforgivingly, rarely ever is.

Had this on 6 May, 2012 with red curry and lemon grass chicken. Have had it in my cellar since late 2004, so close to 8 years. Back then it was all over the place with very intense and tight tannins. Now this blend of probably Cab.Sav, Merlot and perhaps Cab.Franc is very smooth, almost gentle, with earthy tastes combined with light vanilla and red berries. Very nice all in all and definitely worth the wait.
