- Very dark, not much nose but very mild and winning texture. As a house wine this would be a knockout! Leftover barrels from Cheval Blanc? No over-extraction, very gentle. Fine tannins but mainly ripe and very neat fruit...

- A fine value that really took advantage of all the vintage had to offer. While this wine is well structured with big tannins there is ample fruit to offer balance. The nose is typical Bordeaux with sweet fruit, a touch of caramelly oak and herbaceous notes that turns towards the smoked chile end of the spectrum The palate is still a bit tight but there is a layered quality with notes of cocoa, oaken spice, licorice, and roasting coffee bean all taking turns accentuating the ripe herb and cassis core of fruit.
