Color: Dark ruby Bouquet: Wild berry medium bodied, wild berry, nicely balanced moderately long finish
Bordeaux, not my usual genre and for the reason that there really should be a rule of thumb, do not opt for an affordable bordeaux. If venturing into unknown territory in the testing out new random wines area....the under 20usd category should not include bordeaux, one can easily find a decent syrah (surely) and perhaps even a pinot, cabs are slightly touchy but bordeaux? Never. With that said, perhaps I set myself up for disappointment. On a first taste it seems to try for that aromatic fruityness but somehow nothing seem to fit quite well, it's a rich quite beautiful red nice aroma but for some reason entirely lost on me. If the term discord could fit into a bottle, this would be it. If looking for nice bordeaux within a reasonable price range, try an argentinian red blend or even a Napa red.
