Deep ruby in the glass. Dark and loamy kirsch aromas, as well as cassis. Loads of black and red berry fruit. On the palate, it's fruit forward. Lush and extracted with big tannin and fruit. It's layered with nice acid. Enjoyable with lush red and black fruit laced with oak. Really nice. 4/14/12

This property has made some brilliant wines in recent vintages, including a monumental 2005 and super-delicious 2004. Another stunning offering, the 2006 possesses sweet cherry and cassis notes intermixed with spring flowers, underbrush, and licorice. Medium-bodied and beautifully concentrated with soft acids as well as sweet tannin, the overall impression is one of opulence and plushness, atypical characteristics for a 2006. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025.

Dark ruby core with a rich, bright ruby rim. Chalky red cherries and cinnamon are accented by light floral and red raspberry notes, with underlying aromas of wet peat. Sweet, lush and full on the palate with rich berry fruits up front. Great body thr... Mike Supple. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Malescot-St-Exupery 3000ml

Winemaker's Notes:

his is very pure in style on the nose, and rather expressive, with a wealth of deep cassis fruit. Dense and a little spicy, pure and rounded, but with a little less texture and depth than I was expecting. Nevertheless, it is quite grippy, firm and structured, and that grip comes out a lot on the finish. Firm with a good presence of acidity. Good wine but there are some that overshadow it in this tasting.
