Château Malescot St. Exupéry Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

"A very rich, oaky, vanillary, modern-style nose. Opulent with moderate definition. The palate is medium-bodied with high but not excessive extraction. Svelte, harmonious, just lacking a little delineation but a pure, cranberry and wild strawberry tinged finish. Excellent...91" Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com 11/06

Brick red in the glass. The nose seems older than the 2000 drank the same night. Dirty red berry, dried leaves and menthol aromas. It's really pretty and feminine on the palate. Luch, raspberry, strawberry and currant. Good acid. Lovely floral notes. Nicely balanced, delicate flavors. 4/14/12

This dark red has a subtle brown touch in its color and hints of dark fruits and anise on the palate. A great full-bodied wine that has a surprising complexity to it.
