Château Malartic-Lagravière Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend Pessac-Léognan Blanc 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes :Aromas of sweet black cherries interwoven with notions of tapenade, loamy soil, smoke, and charcoal emerge from this medium-bodied, elegant, stylish offering. While not terribly concentrated, it is charming as well as refreshingly delicate yet authoritatively flavored. Sweet tannin and a silky style suggest it may put on weight and merit a higher score in several more years. It should keep for 12-18 years.

Lovely brick red color. Blackberry, blackcurrant and coffee on the nose and sustained on mid-palate upon initial tasting. The forward, heavy tannins should diminish with further bottle aging. There is good depth overall but more balance would help. Reasonable value though less impressive than the 2005.
