Editorial Reviews for Château Malartic-Lagravière Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan
Hugely herbaceous nose, Cabernet driven, black, gravel and even some tomato- a bit blocky in the mouth, structured and balanced with nice density and weight, but not much detail, tight, finish is short, should improve (85-86)
Cocoa, mocha and blueberry on the nose. Still young and tight, but with a lot of potential. Complex and with a nice finish - a wine to watch for sure
Very mineral, almost fungal nose - really intriguing. Sounds strange, but i loved it. Very aromatic throughout - peaches, light spice from the oak - nice mineral finish.
Much smokier and denser than the more recent years, this wine is all truffle, smoke and toast. Very mineral, still restrained in the mouth - will continue to age some more. Very mineral finish.

The Domaine de Lagravière, famed since time immemorial for its excellent terroir and this famous "hillock" of gravel. In honour of the Count Hippolyte of Malartic, admiral who served the Kings of France and owner of the Domaine in the 18th Century, the Château was renamed Malartic-Lagraviere.Bought by Michèle and Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie at the end of 1996, the estate has been completely renovated. All the conditions have been united to make Malartic-Lagravière's wines worthy of their place amongst the greatest Bordeaux: a terroir and vineyard of high standards, innovative and high performance equipment devoted entirely to traditional winemaking methods, and a committed and passionate team. One of the only six classified growths both for its red and white, Château Malartic-Lagravière's wines are well known all over the world for their complexity, power, elegance and balance.
