External Reviews for Château Magdelaine Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru
Wine Advocate ReviewRated 92The 1990 Magdelaine is among the most sumptuous examples of this estate's wine. The nose reveals interesting herb, berry, mineral, and vanillin scents. Copious, even lavish quantities of sweet tobacco, coffee, and orange tea-like flavors can be found in this super-ripe Merlot-based wine. The acidity is adequate and the moderate tannins are firm. Magdelaine represents a different expression of St.-Emilion that tasters often find too austere. The opulent, even decadent 1990 is an exception. Anticipated maturity: Now-2008.
