Château Lynch-Bages Red Bordeaux Blend Pauillac 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

"This is quite wonderful with a beautiful balance of ultra-fine tannins and pretty fruits from currant to blueberries. Full-bodied. Delicious to taste. Deft winemaking here for the vintage. 93+" JS 04/12 "This has nice weight and intensity, with a solid core of plum, blackberry and cassis that's offset by a racy, spicy frame. Very sleek through the finish, with latent depth in reserve....92-95" WS 04/12 "The 2011 boasts an inky/purple hue in addition to copious aromas of black currants, incense, forest floor and ink. Deep, rich, medium to full-bodied and layered with supple tannins as well as the vintage-s freshness and vibrancy, it should age easily for 20 years...90-93" WA 04/12

In the 18th century, Count Jean-Baptiste Lynch, mayor of Bordeaux, inherited the estate and handed over management to his brother Michel Lynch, who was also mayor of Pauillac during the French Revolution. Jean-Charles Cazes, highly respected in the Médoc for his experience in viticul- ture and winemaking, bought the property in 1934. With his son André, he devoted all his energy to Lynch-Bages for more than 35 years. In 1974, his grand-son Jean-Michel Cazes set about restructuring and managing the estate and recently, in 2006, handed over the running of the property to his son Jean-Charles. Read less

Lynch Bages bringt konstant gute Qualität, auch bei diesem Jahrgang: noch etwas krautig und wuchtig, wird aber sicher noch viel besser.

Very ripe and pure, with beautiful, caressing cassis and succulent plum flavors gliding over well-embedded structure. The long, iron-tinged finish is youthfully pure and very refined.-J.M. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Echo de Lynch Bages 750ml

Purple color of good intensity. Fresh and fruity nose. Fruity rounded and suave on entry. Developing tasty on the palate with a medium body and a good length this wine is rather made of aromas than power. Coated tannins. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com

Like so many wines in this vintage, this shows black-currant acidity. It's lively and fruity, with the firm tannins providing a counterpoint. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Lynch Bages 3000ml
