In the 18th century, Count Jean-Baptiste Lynch, mayor of Bordeaux, inherited the estate and handed over management to his brother Michel Lynch, who was also mayor of Pauillac during the French Revolution. Jean-Charles Cazes, highly respected in the Médoc for his experience in viticul- ture and winemaking, bought the property in 1934. With his son André, he devoted all his energy to Lynch-Bages for more than 35 years. In 1974, his grand-son Jean-Michel Cazes set about restructuring and managing the estate and recently, in 2006, handed over the running of the property to his son Jean-Charles. Read less

Pure and racy delivering a core of violet cassis and cherry well-framed by a sleek iron-coated structure. Features a long taut focused finish. Shows the austerity of the vintage but this remains long and pure with fine cut.

Produced as an echo of its older brother, the First Wine of Lynch Bages, the 'Echo de Lynch Bages' has all the same characteristics in aroma, flavour and finish as one would expect from these great wines from Pauillac. The suppleness and roundness of these wines lean towrds requiring less storage time when in the bottle to give it its elegance, charm and seductive power. Grapes : Cabernet Sauvignon 72%, Merlot 17%, Cabernet Franc 11% Region : France / Bordeaux Maker : Jean-Charles Cazes Notes : Red fruit aromas and elegant notes with well integrated oak, well structured and smooth, succulent with dark cassis fruit, and earthy complexity. Serve : Serve with roast meat dishes, stews and mature cheeses. ABV : 13%

This is very lively and dense in the center palate. Full body with a dried apple and pear character. Bright acidity. Citrusy. Long and brilliant. 60% Sauvignon Blanc 27% Semillon and 13% Muscadelle. James Suckling.

The wine is very dry layered tannins giving a major sense of structure. It will always have this dry dense character very firm solid and powerful. Wine Enthusiast.
