Chateau les Forts de Latour Pauillac 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"This comes off as almost sweet, thanks to gentle ripeness and friendly plum sauce, raspberry and cherry compote notes, all backed by an energy that's in reserve. There's latent acidity rippling through the finish, where briar, pastis and graphite lurk as well. Really pure...93-96" WS 3/11 "This is hyper fine, with beautiful tannins that are incredibly integrated. Full and super intense. Licorice and currants and violets. Splendid. 72.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25.5% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot...94-95" JS 04/11

Les Forts de Latour is produced from 72.5 Cabernet Sauvignon 25.5 Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. This deeply colored earth oak cassis and tobacco scented wine offers concentration freshness blackberry and chocolate flavors in the finish. This wine shares a family resemblance with its big brother Chateau Latour. Jeff Leve.

72.5% cabernet sauvignon 25.5% merlot 2% petit verdot. This wine represents 40% of the harvest in 2010 which began on September 20th with the merlot and finished on October 11th with the cabernet sauvignon. Alcohol is 14.3%. A nose of bright red fruits leads into flavors of grilled steak chocolate raspberry and an intense mineral streak. The finish is long with tremendous texture and weight on the palate. Tannins are beautifully integrated. Though this is Latour s second wine most wineries

Deep red. Sweet red cherry cassis cedar and graphite on the showy nose. Sweet and chewy in the mouth with red fruit liqueur and Oriental spice elements carrying through on the tactile long finish. Much better than the Pauillac which is the estate s third wine. (ID) Stephen Tanzers IWC.
