Chateau Leoville las Fcs 2eme Cru Classe Saint Julien C 1995

Winemaker's Notes:

Sweet vanillin with pure cassis, black cherries, lead pencil shavings. Elegant, medium-bodied, saturated purple color, high tannin, structured, backward feel in the mouth. Quintessentially elegant needs another 5-7 years to hit its plateau of maturity.

Marked deep ruby colour, intense and full with a complex nose of blackberries, vanilla and a mineral quality. An initial flavour set of blackberries, really high of fruit and some tough tannins indicate the wine needs even more time, probably another 10 years to reach its optimum expression. The earthy character of the wine is appealing and the finish is satisfying, smooth and long. A wonderfully complex and interesting wine that is well priced due to the hyped '96 vintage.

Incredible nose of blackberry, mineral, cedar and currant. Full-bodied, with silky and refined tannins and a medium caressing finish. It's a beautiful wine that begs to be drunk now but will age and improve for a long time.--'95/'96

...Deep, lively aromas of red- and blackcurrants, licorice, tobacco and grilled nuts. Great sweetness and silky texture in the mouth currently overshadows the wine strong supporting acidity and tight core of spice and minerals... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1995 Leoville-Las Cases 750ml
