Château Léoville las Cases Red Bordeaux Blend St. Julien 1985

Winemaker's Notes:

This is the epitome of a classic, good, mature British Claret. Textbook cassis,
cigar boxes, toast and minerals are all here. Its tannins are beautifully soft,
but it has lost none of its flesh and intensity. It is fantastic right now, but
will last for a further 10 to 15 years. Drink now-2020.

beautiful deep red color almost no clear on edge - lovely nose and delicious fruit - dark red cherry, plum touch, of baking spice - still tasting young and fresh all evening - very pleasant surprise as cap was going funky - top of cork a bit musty - wine had crept up a bit but bottom of cork was luscious - cellared in vinotemp

A fabulous wine; one of the first great Las Cases. Full-bodied and rich, with the tannins extremely well integrated into an impressive background of fruit. Give it time.--Cabernet Challenge. Best after 2004. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1985 Leoville-Las Cases 1500ml
