I think others have severely underscored this wine. Espresso, jasmine, sauteed mushrooms and black pepper on the nose, great grip with vanilla, dark chocolate, toast, black olive... long italian roast finish that you'll expect to be on your palate for hours. This is 98% of Chateau Le Dome for a quarter of the price. I'd swear this wine has caffeine in it -- this comes from grapes? Amazing, exciting wine from an overlooked vintage. $60 95 points WKH 95 points

Opened a bottle of the 90 le gay in a casual occasion. aroma was still very outgoing as soon as it was uncorked. it was plummy on the nose, moderate thickness. very soft tannin on the palate and a 10 seconds+ finish. great wine.
Nice fruit on the nose medium acid, great balance. Some hints of cedar and berry flavors for the fruit. A great mature Bordeaux. Even after an hour it still held together.

This isnt shy about its toast, with mocha and spice aromas boldly leading the way, but theres serious flesh too, with açaí berry, blueberry and blackberry notes all melded together and driving through the anise-tinged finish. A strong showing. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Chateau Le Gay Pomerol 6000ml
Much brighter than the rustic earthy 2009 vintage. In the new Chateau Le Gay the cherry and raspberry take a front seat to the spice and loam notes. Fresher and not quite as weighty as many of our Bordeaux. Great with steak and mushrooms.
Tasted at the chateau and the Syndicat, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, cropped 3rd to 6th October, the Le Gay 2010 has a lifted, pure bouquet of dark cherries, a touch of cassis, crushed violets and a hint of blueberry. Blueberry, sea shell and blackberry aromas. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins, yet polished and cool, with a long, racy finish. Dense, with a solid core of everything. Score range: 93-96 -JS Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau Le Gay 1500ml
A rustic earthy style of Bordeaux perfect for those who prefer classic Old World reds. Subtle black fruit is enveloped in leather black pepper dried herbs and loamy soil notes. Great with a juicy extra-rare steak or slow-roasted pork dish.
90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Situated on the clay and gravel plateau of Pomerol adjacent to Chateau Petrus, the average age of the vines is over 50 years. The topsoil is gravel with clay and limestone in the substrata. Yields in 2009 were just... Andy Frieden. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau Le Gay Pomerol 1500ml
