Complex aromas of blackberry, olives, flowers and lightly toasted oak follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a long, caressing finish. Pretty and refined. Best after 2010. 1,250 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2003 Chateau Le Gay 750ml
Readers should take note of the dramatic jump in quality at Le Gay under the relatively new proprietor Madame Pere-Verge. This property situated between Petrus and Lafleur has enormous potential and it s good to see it finally being fully exploited. The 2003 has turned out as well as I had hoped. A strong effort in a problematic vintage for Pomerol it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as a bouquet of blue and black fruits interwoven with licorice crushed rocks and cold steel. This terroir-based wine possesses impressively concentrated flavors medium to full body and moderate tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
