A rustic earthy style of Bordeaux perfect for those who prefer classic Old World reds. Subtle black fruit is enveloped in leather black pepper dried herbs and loamy soil notes. Great with a juicy extra-rare steak or slow-roasted pork dish.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Château Le Gay 2009 has been described by Robert Parker as "an outstanding wine" and by Jancis Robinson as "Pretty damned good." The ’09 Le Gay has a ripe, blackcurrant, briary, limestone tinged bouquet with very fine definition, opening up nicely with aeration with hint of orange sorbet and apricot. There is a real explosion of aroma and flavour, offering good depth of succulent fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, slightly chalky yet silky and suave tannins, very fresh and well defined with a beguiling sense of symmetry and focus towards the precise finish. A very good wine for early consumption.
