Chateau Latour a Pomerol 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"Following a strong effort in 2009, *the 2010 is one of the finest Latour a Pomerols produced in many years*. Tiny yields (due to the spotty flowering of the Merlot) and small berries (a result of the drought) have produced a dense purple-colored wine with lots of licorice, camphor, black currant, earth and spice notes. The sweetness of the tannins along with the wine’s density, opulence and richness make it *one of the finest recent examples from this estate* (which is attempting to reclaim the legendary status it enjoyed in such ancient vintages as 1947, 1950, 1959 and 1961). The 2010 should drink well for 20 or more years."Robert Parker Wine Advocate (92-94 points)**We will notify you on arrival Summer 2013*

Dark and brooding a very dark purple core with little to no variation at the rim. The bouquet offers sweet cherry mocha and lavender followed closely by rich minerality and crushed stones. This is medium to full bodied and has a wonderful richness on the palate layered with hefty tannins and lofty acidity. Notes of plum molding clay and fig dominate the mid palate slowly moving into a finish that lingers for a long while. Latour A Pomerol is making its way back to the days of old. With Ch

Aromas of white flowers such as acacia. It is rich and fat and holds up impressively in the mouth.

The bouquet of this wine is extremely enticing with plush and pure fruit aromas along with underlying minerals that weave in and out. These same components repeat on the palate with a sense of purity and length that is quite compelling and the focused flavors are elegant with just the barest sense of breadth across the palate. Meanwhile the long finish tapers gently propelled by the finest of tannins and just the right amount of acid. Beautifully poised and looking incredible at this point. W

Truffle forest floor chocolate and cherry aromas open to a supple medium/full bodied soft textured wine that ends with a black cherry licorice finish Jeff Leve.
