Editorial Reviews for Château Lascombes Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux
Oaky and slightly jammy on the nose with assertive nutty tones and black currant/black berry fruit – woody sweetness upfront, a bit lean yet showing an elegance on the midpalate with nicely ripe tannins and vaguely herbaceous fruit, slightly creamy black currant fruit, licorice toned finish of modest length (89-90)
The nose is fresh and delicate with fine leather, fresh vibrant flowers and bright red berries all tinged with subtle cedar. The mouthfeel is light and fresh, lithe with excellent integration and a soft juicy texture that supports sweet red berried fruit that finishes with just a hint of astringency that works to give the wine a touch of mouth grab. Classic margaux in all it's perfumed, medium bodied, red fruited glory. 2007-2015

Wood, spice and fruit nose. Spice, wood, cigar and alluring fruit. Great attack. Complex with a great finish. Almost a 4!
Color, this wine has a ruby red color. Nose, this is indeed a modern old world wine! After many hours of decanting, this wine smells like a fruit bomb to a cretin extent. There are a lot of of black fruits coming through, blueberries are dominating, some cassis, floral aromas, some heat coming through, some earthiness and dirt. Midpalate, charcoaly flavors are vibrant here, some minimality coming through, really a modern Bordeaux, blueberries still going on. Finish, it proves that this wine is a new world! I am not getting any acidity. There are firm layered tannins going on, nice texture, nice complexity, blueberries are still dancing on my palate. I am still feeling this wine after 30 seconds of sipping it. This is a well made and balanced bottle of wine. I am 93 on this effort. Bottled at 13.5%. Happy drinking!
A very lovely smooth Bordeaux. Easy to drink. Wonderful on its own or along with food. I really enjoyed it!
For the money this is an incredible expression of Bordeaux. Hints of earth and spice on a solid foundation. Well balanced tannins give this beauty a nice textured mouth feel without being overly aggressive. Subtle fruit is complimented with herbal accents and wet leather.
50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot 93 RP I sat it out for an hour in my glass before drinking. I tasted it before and after the breathing. After it sat, it lost the faint bitter aftertaste that i previously tasted. However, the slight sourish taste in the beginning was still there - so probably still too young. I do enjoy the fruit - blackberries, not-quite-ripe cherries, also had some licorice, tobacco and slight oak. Nice 'pucker-up' tannins and a finish that is sooooo long. Can't wait to pop it open in a few more years. Maybe pop one of my remaining 4 in 2009.

Big, bold and fruity, this shows plenty of rich blackberry-juice flavor and fine tannins. The fruit and tannins are well balanced, with a juicy character on the finish. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Lascombes 1500ml
