Editorial Reviews for Château Lascombes
Deep, elegant and complex on the nose with a sophisticated blend of nutty oak, fresh fruits smoky herbs all in balance. Relatively filling in the mouth and supple though with plenty of stuffing, the fruit is fresh but a bit tight, though this does show some nice fresh berry and floral inner mouth perfumes, and dry red fruit on the firm finish which shows great length. Very successful. 93pts
Oaky and slightly jammy on the nose with assertive nutty tones and black currant/black berry fruit – woody sweetness upfront, a bit lean yet showing an elegance on the midpalate with nicely ripe tannins and vaguely herbaceous fruit, slightly creamy black currant fruit, licorice toned finish of modest length (89-90)
The nose is fresh and delicate with fine leather, fresh vibrant flowers and bright red berries all tinged with subtle cedar. The mouthfeel is light and fresh, lithe with excellent integration and a soft juicy texture that supports sweet red berried fruit that finishes with just a hint of astringency that works to give the wine a touch of mouth grab. Classic margaux in all it's perfumed, medium bodied, red fruited glory. 2007-2015

This is a full-bodied wine that shows signs of bitter extraction. It has weight certainly along with signs of dark-plum fruits to go with the firm tannins. A complex aftertaste promises well. Wine Enthusiast.
Big bold and fruity this shows plenty of rich blackberry-juice flavor and fine tannins. The fruit and tannins are well balanced with a juicy character on the finish. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast.
A blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot that tips the scales at 14% natural alcohol, the 2011 Lascombes is another knock-out effort. (Michel Rolland is the consultant.) The wine hits all cylinders in 2010. The average alcohol for the bottled wine is 14%. It has a gorgeously sweet nose of creme de cassis spring flowers subtle barbecue smoke and charcoal followed by full body beautiful intensity great purity stature and length. The influence of any oak is minimal despite the fact that 90% new French oak was used. Needless to say this is an example of modern-styled winemaking at it s finest and arguments that such wines will not age well do not represent
50% merlot 44% cabernet sauvignon 5% petit verdot and 1% cabernet franc. Aged 18 months in 50% new oak. Chateau Lascombes now utilizes an optical sorting table which eliminates any berry that is not entirely up to par. The seductive and complex nose offers a beautiful mix of violet chocolate allspice cinnamon and beautifully ripe blackberry. Delicious blackberry and boysenberry emerge on the round palate with a touch of vanilla. This silky smooth wine will benefit from at least 5 years of
