Clear red/black color. Huge nose with roasted coffee, mocha, vanila and blackcurrant. I used a lot of time just sniffing this - although it is primarily the oak that dominates right now, the aromas are very good. On the palate the wine is completely different, earthy and holding back, giving some blackcurrant. Good structure and the fruit grows on the palate. Good lenght with some coffee and dark chocolate towards the end. Very modern style Bordeaux, unfortunately the nose promises more than the taste can deliver.

- Blackberries. Very exotic, but not a terroir nose. A definite change of style here now that Alain Reynaud of Quinault l'Enclos has been brought in to oversee winemaking. Dusty tannins. Painfully dry at the end (after a very fresh nose).

- Sorry but this is not wearing well. Blackish colour. Very dramatic nose but not a Bordeaux nose - more New World. Full blooded, opulent but a bit oak-dead on the finish. Certainly very distinctive...
