Château Larrivet-Haut-Brion Red Bordeaux Blend Pessac-Léognan 2007

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Smoky and earthy on the nose with herbaceous tones giving this a stemmy quality and leathery notes to the fruit – elevated acids make this tart, light bodied, a bit neutral on the palate, soft tannins, clean finish, fairly fruity, stemmy tannins, a bit short, obviously quite fruit driven (85-86)

a beautiful nose, just stunning, with perfume of flowers and red fruits. The entry is very nice and classy, but from there it shows its weakensss. Nice black berries and with a bit of cool menthol, it 's a bit lean, and short. With more air a bit of cream comes in, but a bit light and not very complex. Still, when finding this wine for under $25, one can get a flash of fair pleasure on the nose and enrty that has more in common with a high class wine, and that is worth the price of this admission alone.
