Reviews for 2005 Vintage
I enjoyed this much more than the other reviewers. At first taste this is a bit thin.... but is very smooth. After a bit of time open the fruit is very evident. Mostly bright red fruit and hints of prunes in the mid palate. The finish isn't overly long but is pleasant. I picked this bottle up for $6.00 at Costco and this is by far the best $6 wine I have ever had.
I bought a half case from Costco at $14.99 per bottle. Heavy tanin taste and very acidic. I let two bottles breath for an extended period of time. Don't waster your money.
Overripe, highly extracted fruit, yet somehow thin and watery. I wasnt really a fan of this. Lean with lots of minerality, but it was the licorice and medicinal finish that turned me off. Good acidity would help it pair with food, but its still got a tart finish.
Bordeaux wines of the Cru Bourgeois classification have been having a definition crisis recently. Whether ldquo;Exceptionnelrdquo; or ldquo;Superieur, rdquo; this classification was outlawed last year mdash; but only after some producers had already started bottling and distributing this 2005 vintage. As you can see from the label, this wine was one of those that got through. It has a deep crimson color with notes of charcoal, pepper, oak and cherry on the nose, a medium body, and a long earthy and herbal finish. Luckily, the ldquo;Cru Bourgeoisrdquo; classification will apparently be making a comeback, but with higher standards of quality to be followed. Itrsquo;s hard to imagine what will come next from them if this fantastic wine was created with what are now to be considered lower-quality standards. For now, I guess will just have to drink this great wine and wonder.

Big tannins give way to blackberries and herbs on the palate. We think this wine will really open up and show much more complexity in a few years.
A classy Haut Medoc with deep ruby color and a sweet nose of black currants intermixed with tobacco leaf, licorice and spice box, this wine displays medium body, excellent fruit intensity, an enticing texture, admirable purity, and a spicy, relatively velvety finish. Drink it over the next decade.
This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines should appeal to readers looking for terrific values from Bordeaux. Most of these wines are Merlot-based and will be drinkable young.
This vintage is filled with great quality wines and a wine like this offers greater value. More approachable too on the palate since it's based on the Merlot grape.
Not overly complex but very balanced. Medium tannins. Dark fruits on the nose with a slight earthy note. Lush fruit on the palate. Easy drinking and a great value for the price.
