Tested from a preservation machine. Advisory: drink now, don't cellar. Complex nose with strong cherry (kirsch) notes, spices (anise), hints of strawberry or cherry cola, background mineral. In the mouth has notable and smooth acid and tannin around the rim of the tongue with smoke, graphite, and rich ripe not sweet (slightly sour) red and black fruit (red cherry, berry, and cassis or elderberry) along with a meaty undertone. Finishes with fading sour fruit and toasted oak with a metallic sheen. Dry. Body medium, acid medium, tannin medium plus. Good value as tested, USD20.
