Chateau Lanessan Cru Bourgeois Haut-Medoc 1995

Member Review by dynowine:

Tested with 3+ hrs air time (including shaking the bottle initially) at 70-75 deg F. Filled in and moved from "orange-ish" taste to cherry taste with air time. Nose of this wine is quite good and better than the taste, but taste is acceptable. Alluring nose of cherry-plum, leather, smoke, graphite, stony mineral, perfume, and cola spices (nutmeg or orange peel). In the mouth tastes of slightly musty leather with sour ripe fruit (cherry, dark plum) plus some spice (pepper, orange peel, nutmeg). Finish fades of fruit and wood notes with hints of nuts and toast. Body medium minus, acid medium, tannin medium or lower.

Tested from a preservation machine. Advisory: drink now, don't cellar. Complex nose with strong cherry (kirsch) notes, spices (anise), hints of strawberry or cherry cola, background mineral. In the mouth has notable and smooth acid and tannin around the rim of the tongue with smoke, graphite, and rich ripe not sweet (slightly sour) red and black fruit (red cherry, berry, and cassis or elderberry) along with a meaty undertone. Finishes with fading sour fruit and toasted oak with a metallic sheen. Dry. Body medium, acid medium, tannin medium plus. Good value as tested, USD20.
