Château Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux White 2011
40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon, and 20% Muscadelle. This blend, based on ancient tradition, is rare in Bordeaux these days. Traditional winemaking methods of 50% skin contact , cool fermentation in vat, and barrel-ageing on the lees for about 3 weeks, makes the wine round, smooth, and fruity. This wine is ideal as an aperitif and with fish, seafood (oysters, mussels), or goat's cheese.
A nice white bordeaus, especially from the 2009, 2010 vintages. Always a hit with my "white wine" drinking friends, anve a great value for the price.
