Chateau Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux Blanc 2016

Member Review by appassionatadivino:

Lychee and wet slate on the nose. Tart, lemony, crisp, and nicely acidic on the palate. A bit of lychee again on the finish. Refreshing and crisp.

Dry with a nice acidic finish. A bit taut. Tastes of a lot of grapefruit, which is not my favorite, so it was not as appealing to me.

Bordeaux, FranceChateau Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux Blanc is a beautiful white blend of 40% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon, and 20% Muscadelle. It is sourced from vineyards around the commune of Haux on top of a clay-limestone slope. Farmed using sustainable methods and aged three months on the lees in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Vigneron Damien Chombart believes that sustainable farming is not only stewardship of the land, but also as a way to enhance the life of farmers, communities and society. This is one of the top values in white Bordeaux!Chateau Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux Blanc is medium in body with bright acidity and notes of fresh citrus, melon and green apples. This flagship white boasts floral and fruity aromas and is fresh and round on the palate with a crisp, dry finish.Chateau Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux Blanc pairs perfectly with grilled snapper, roast chicken, summer salads and mild cheeses.

This wine is fresh, layered with some attractive lightweight botrytis and delicate fruit. What it offers in accessibility it lacks in concentration, and will age fairly quickly.

A full style, rounded and soft, with fresh white pear and plum flavors. It has a perfumed character from the 20% Muscadelle in the blend, which gives it ripeness but diminishes the fresh acidity.

It just wouldnrsquo;t be summer without those crisp, zesty Sauvignon Blancs, but many are just too light for those die-hard Chardonnay drinkers. Enter the white Bordeaux mdash; blended with Semillon to give it more weight and richness, but still remaining super-fresh, it is the perfect compromise. Pair this one with shrimp salad, grilled sole or Italian pasta salad.

This is a traditional blend of 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon and 20% Muscadelle. Refreshingly acidic and fruit forward, it is an excellent aperitif and pairs well with fish and oysters.

The high percentage (40%) of Seacute;millon softens this wine, making it supple and round without losing the crispness of the Sauvignon Blanc. Bright tangerine and telltale gooseberry notes are balanced with honeysuckle and melon.

Reminiscent of springtime, this dry wine offers a fragrant bouquet of wild flowers followed by equally enticing flavors of passion fruit and key limes that finish with a clean and zesty appeal.
