Chateau Lamartine Cahors Prestige du Malbec 2013

External Review by We Speak Wine:

Light red color, strong nose, light woody smell with slight hint of licorice and little red smashed fruits. Strong yet refined.

Château Lamartine:
Tis is a family estate devastated by philloxera in the 19th century but replanted in the 1920's by Edouard Serougne and now run by his grandson Alain Gayaud. It is one of the leading estates of the Cahors appellation with 35 hectares under vine and producing several cuvees of red and rose wines. It should not be confused with another Chateau Lamartine in Castilon Bordeaux
