Château Lafayette Reneau Roaring Red Estate 2006
Off-dry, but not overly sweet. Nice and simple while being very fruit forward as well. Light red fruits - strawberries predominate - some pleasant earthiness balances this. Good finish. Sold by Best Cellars. Tasted at the winery.Add winemaker's notes
We cordially invite you to savor 140 acres of vineyards, ponds, and woodlands. Our brick house and renovated barn/winery are from an earlier, simpler time. The panoramic view of Seneca Lake is absolutely spellbinding. Your visit here is more than another trip to a winery. It's a vacation from daily stress. This is the ideal place to nurture wine & dreams.

I'm a fan! I just finished the bottle after a few days in a capped decanter and this red tastes of pepper, plum, and a light berry flavor I can't describe. Others say cherry but I don't get that, at least not now. Spending 3 days in my decanter did pretty decent things to it. It's got a nice upfront tang and has a long mellow finish. This is one I would buy again.
This is an interesting wine. The oak comes upfront in a big way, but finishing oddly sweet. An unusual combination that is definitely worth a try. This wine has a fairly full flavor and body. Worth a shot.
