Like Prisoner, great blend. Had with bacon. Yum. Very good alone, but everything's better with bacon.

Château La Roque is a Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux wine estate in Saint-Emillion, France that dates back to the 12th century. A single tower is all that remains of the original structure, which was rebuilt in the 17th century. Wine had been produced here throughout the centuries. As with many vineyards in the area, they suffered many stops and starts because of the Revolution, phylloxera and the World Wars, well into the mid 20th century. Many of the vineyards were replanted in 1962 and twenty years later in 1982, new Estate Manager, Bruno Sainson, together with his team, set about upgrading the whole site. In 2004, Xavier Beaumartin took over to further regain Laroque’s former glory. The estate boasts one of the largest vineyards in Saint-Emillion, with its best plots and oldest vines reserved for the Grand Cru Classé. These are planted with 87% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Read less
