Château La Nerthe is the oldest producer in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, producing wine since 1560. The winery has been certified organic since 1998, and is among the region’s top five wineries. La Nerthe is a leader in the art of blending, combining up to 13 varieties - so that no one dominates.
Extremely smooth. Not big, bold or fruity. Mildly complex, elegant, medium weight. Excellent.
Great wine if your looking for smooth mid-dry taste combined with good value; I´ve tasted the wine in Paris while eating foie gras and it worked fine.
Nose is a bit hot when the bottle is first opened, firm tannins balanced with good fruit.
Dark red. Spicy, jammy aromas of blackberry, cassis and exotic Asian spices. Round and velvety, with sweet berry flavors and notes of chocolate, mocha and lavender pastille. A solid Chateauneuf-Du-Pape at a good value.
